Symbiosis school of architecture

"With a sculptural staircase at the very core of a light-filled atrium, the spaces at the SSPA reflects the quality and character of an architectural education"

The Symbiosis School for Planning and Architecture has been designed to evoke interest and intrigue whilst promoting interaction and spatial understanding amongst students.

The narrow site defined the limits for the building to grow. The form of the building evolved organically in the form of two wings enveloping a central volume – a light filled atrium which forms the core of the building. The atrium serves as the main circulation spine. It is composed of a staircase that has offsets at different levels and locations lending a unique quality to the space.

The canteen is strategically located at the center of this atrium - the activated focal point of the two wings. The art and critique rooms are planned around the atrium.
